No. We use a low-pressure soft wash. No pressure washing, scrubbing or scraping. Those methods damage slate.

The treatment keeps working after we leave. Rain and weather wash away the dead growth over the next few weeks. Rinsing the slate would cut that short.

Most roofs look 80 to 90% better right away. They keep improving for 6 to 8 weeks as weather clears the treated growth. Algae clears fastest. Thick lichen is the slowest.

We walk the property first and note plants, gutters and copper. We keep rinsing the landscaping the whole time we work. Copper gets extra precautions.
